There's estimates it could sell for 5 million. Hard to believe the current owner's dad daily drove it for something like 5 years.

I wonder if the dent is still on the front of the hood? I read that when Steve McQueen first saw the car before the shooting of the movie, he hit the front of the hood with a shovel to give the car some character. He thought it looked too good to be a cops daily driver.

The current owner was on CBC's "As it happens" the other night. He said there's a lot of Bondo in the car to cover some of the damage done during filming. It must have been done prior to the studio selling the car as he said his dad didn't touch the body. They did go through it mechanically though. Here's the link. Interesting that McQueen was offering a replacement car for it and now the thing is worth Millions. It's kind of ashame though because that car as it sits begs to be thrashed around, once it sells it will probably never run again.
