67 Beaumont auto to standard conversion

Has anyone converted a 67 Beaumont from an automatic to a standard and if so, what pedals did you use? Pedals from a 67 GTO/Tempest or 67 Chevelle because apparently they are different?

I just converted my 66 to 4 speed, I bought a 66 chevelle pedal assembly but it would not fit so I took the pedals off and put them on my bracket.

I was under the impression that the 67 pedals were different than the 64 to 66 and 68 to 72 pedals. In essence 67 was a unique year. Having said that, when you got the pedals for your 66, did you buy the hanger(bracket) and all which was why you just used the pedals?

Just back from vacation catching up on my reading:

Here is what the parts books say for manual trans cars-

Chevelle

64-66 clutch pedal 3841214
67 clutch pedal 3900527

64-66 brake pedal 3843931
67-72 brake pedal 3937889

Beaumont

64-66 clutch pedal 3841214
67-68 clutch pedal 1231313 (old # is 1380844)

64-66 brake pedal 3843931
67-69 brake pedal 3937889

I am baffled why the parts Lt1_Burb had didn't fit his Beaumont unless it was maybe not from a 66?

Thanks for the info. I'll do some research with those numbers and see what I can come up with.

The previous owner had my 67 converted to a 4 speed.

Just looked through the receipts and all it says it custom pedal assembly from the Tinman who I understand isnt in business anymore.
Ive attached a couple pics - I can measure something if that helps.
Please excuse the mess - the dash wiring is now on the winter project list.

Also - from experience - please do something proper with the neutral lockout switch - I guess I bumped the tach driving the car home - the tach was clamped around the steering column and that shifted the column and switch out of park... took a while to figure out why it wouldnt start.

There actually isn't any neutral switch on a 67 manual trans in there. The first year they used that in a GM manual trans is 69.

Thanks for the pics. They look like the GTO pedals that I found for sale on Ebay. Unfortunately the prices are in US dollars. When I get that far, I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and grab them from there.
As to the neutral switch, I have a Tremec TKO in my 66 Nova (previously an automatic) and I ran the wires to the neutral switch on the transmission so now it only starts in neutral.
Thanks for your help.

Likely the issue with not is that the original column shift column was used and there is a neutral safety(or more appropriately a lockout) integrated into the column. It is still able to rotate like it would shifting the automatic into gear. Might be a way to bypass this without replacing the column?

I have everything to convert a 1964-66 Beaumont from auto to standard. You would need the harder to find 67 only pedals and column to convert it properly. The 67 pedals and hanger are different to accommodate the different column used in 67. If it is a factory floor shift auto, the existing column would work fine. If you could find a clutch pedal you could probably trim the wide automatic brake pedal down to accept the smaller brake pedal rubber.

I don't know for certain, but if you used all of the 1964-66 parts; column, pedals, pedal hanger etc, it would likely work in the 67. The experts might catch on due to the column, however I think function would be 100% as the pushrod, clutch fork, general dash arrangement, etc. are the same.

PM me if you need clarification.

Yes thats what I was trying to say...  the Neutral lockout switch on mine wasnt bypassed and the column moved.

Diagnosing was fun - I wasnt looking for a neutral lockout switch because the manuals didnt have one.

Very easy to bypass the switch with a jumper wire - once I figured out that it had one.
