1975 Olds Custlass Vista Cruiser 442 Station Wagon (?)

Another car from the Winnipeg Garden City show

The owner was insisting it was a factory made 442- It was in a tight parking spot and I couldn't get a lot of pictures.

It has the swivel buckets plus it has a 442 style console and steering wheel

In terms of power plant it has a 307 in it - the owner has the original 350 that it came with

There was never a 442 wagon ever built! The only sporty station wagon ever offered was the 73 Malibu SS wagon!

Oldsmobile did take two Vista Cruiser and converted them to 442's in 1970, all work supervised and designed by factory engineers and completed in the factory so in reality there were two built in 1970 but not for sale to the public.  One is accounted for. Both were specd W-30, and had red inner fenders. We can also stretch it a bit to the 1972 Hurst Olds Vista Cruisers with many 442 styling and powertrain components but most certainly no 1975 or other years 442 wagon and most certainly not with a 350.

My first car was a 1975 Cutlass S with the baby V8 260, what a great car it was, I could get 30 mpg on the highway, slug but a great cruiser, I miss it and also the look of it ...

The car has had the console and swivel buckets added from another Cutlass at some point in its life. These options usually found in a legitimate 442, Cutlass S or Salon.

The GM Canada documents will prove the authenticity of the car.
