Nice Dustbuster and a 3800 is a bonus. You drove a Jeep, also probably a death trap in an accident, as is a 63 Parisienne with no seatbelts?

A friend worked for a GM dealer when these were new. He took one out for a road test and had a code reader on top of the dashboard. First stop it slid down to the bottom of the windshield. He had to stop and get out of the seat to retrieve it.

I always thought these looked like the locomotive of a high speed train and thus thought their styling was kind of neat - not I have to buy one neat, but neat to see on the road.

This site looks pretty good for retro style seatbelts: https://www.retrobelt.com/
I bought some years ago from JC Whitney and the quality was very good.

Don't think too much about crash protection for any of these old cars.  If you really look into it and really worry about crash safety you might want to walk away from all your old cars.  I won't go into details, but the info is out there.

I tend to think of them in the same vein as motorcycles - thrill/fun vs safety balance.  You have to think it through and be alright with the risks.  Especially in these days of cell phone worship and distracted driving, and huge pickups and SUVs.  Not to mention legal weed.

Be careful out there!
