Holy guacamole i love that rare beast. This 57 no doubt is worth saving and yes it is a ton of body work but from where i am sitting it is well worth it. I am hoping and praying to the old car gods that some seriously gets this 57 time machine and brings her back to former glory. Good luck to the seller and good luck to the new buyer. Thanks for posting. Cheers.

All Kijiji sellers should be like this seller.......... brutal honesty. The photos do speak a thousand words and i see a very workable car to restore. Interesting to know the total built of the 57 sedan delivery, just over 800 made. I would guess less than 50 still exist. Looks like this was someones hot rod for a number of years, with that high up in the air stance. Hopefully she gets restored and we at C.P. get to know about it.

Indeed. I'd imagine a lot of 57 Chevy floor panels etc would work? Let's hope it doesn't get Camaro front clipped and turned into (as George would say) a house of horrors!
The car was indeed a hot rod in the seventies to the best of my knowledge. I first saw it in 1979 sans a powertrain and was finally able to buy it in 2008. Unfortunately the vent windows were both left open all that time thus the bad front floors. The rest of the floor from the seat back is great. I had big plans of course but I realize after ten years in my yard its not going to happen. I considered making it drive again to aid the sale but nine times out of ten the buyers pull it apart anyway. The only alterations on the car is the hole for a floor shifter and the big shackles on the leaf springs. And it was repainted probably in the seventies too. I included a back seat because over the years I noticed everyone with sedan deliveries seemed to put another seat in them and they are hard to find. As for pricing how do you price a rare car. Rarity scares people. There are no missing pieces on this one. Around here a Chevy would go for twice what you would get for a Pontiac. We will see what happens.

Ken, what motor and tranny were in this 57 when you knew the car and was it ever drag raced. Cheers.

As far as I know it was just a jacked up street car with big back tires and a floor shifter. Think it had a 327. Had volkswagon buckets in it. Engine mounts and bellhousing supports are all still there.
