apparently this and another design study car were on display at the 2019 'Trans Am Nationals' in Dayton last month.
It's pretty neat...
The rear window for the 1970 F-body was actually supposed to be curved from the onset, but there were problems with it, so the glas was squared off from 1970-1974... this car's rear glass is a lengthened version of hte production unit which would eventually be released for the 1975 model year.

Cool!  The rear of the car looks vaguely '64-'67 Vette-ish.

It's interesting that GM put a Ferrari engine in it.  One would think they might try some prototype V12 GM engine or modified V8 in it, if they had one on the go.  It just seems weird to me that a company who developed so many great engines over the years would put a Ferrari in it, one would think it would be a source of pride for GM.

John Delorean loved Ferraris and even had a few while running Pontiac. The Pegasus was his inspiration. I think the rear is actually very 1973 LeMans and Grand Am like.

Taillight locations certainly remind of '73 Lemans, but with wrap around glass and tapered trunk lid I'm also reminded of stingray...

Agree,. I was focusing on pointy tail and taillights but window is definitely Stingray-like.
