I can't even say "needs a big block and a four speed"...only that it needs a four speed!

Too much emphasis placed on the engine ... where are the interior/more exterior shots? Love Evening Orchid.

I agree with Darryl. A top of the line Custom Sport is not just about a drive train. Show us the rest of the car.

Wheels and tarted up engine don't fit the car, IMHO.  If a big block is going to be installed, even though it wasn't available in this car, I would prefer how Carl did his, in making it appear original.  And, I agree with Carl again that if you are going to go this far, then toss out the slushbox and put in a 4-speed (or preferably a 5 or 6-speed, to give 'beat-on-it" ratios, and one or two highway gears).

Like the car, don't like what was done with it.  JUST MY OPINION... I always thought the big cars to be more elegant and stately, and the mid-size and "compacts" (like an X body would be considered a compact today) to be the ones that would have had chrome wheels, big tires, and a ton of chrome and add-ons under the hood.  JMHO.  Hopefully somebody will love it and buy it.

A 409 might have been a more appropriate choice.

It would be super cool dressed as a 396, even though they couldn't be bought that way. Most people wouldn't know the difference.

I suppose, if you were wanting to clone it like an original 409 car.  But, it already has a BBC in it, so...

Exactly my thoughts!  Dress it up to look like a phantom (possible production car that was never actually built) 396 car with a 4-speed.  The guys in the know will get it, the guys who don't know will probably think it's original.  Everybody else will just think it's another fancy old car...

I love the car, especially the colour. But one more pedal and lots of orange/black painted stuff under the hood would make it perfect!
