Interesting, the wagon sold for about 3 times the price of the convertible in your other post!

I'm wondering if it's a original tri-power car, or if it was just installed after the fact.  Shouldn't the air cleaner be one big round unit with two snorkels?

Also, what's up with that battery?  A side poster, and it doesn't look to be level...  Somehow I would expect a higher level of detail for almost $40K US.

Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful car nonetheless.  And auction fever definitely will drive the price up.

probably got that because it was a wagon not just a convertible-re; way more convertibles available than wagons these days. Weird stuff can sometimes fetch a bundle because they are really different.Or you had 2 guys bidding that really wanted it badly-happens

I'm sure you are right.  I can still remember when wagons were just considered parts cars... I'm sure glad that things have changed in that regard!  I always liked wagons even when people thought of them as duds.

Back in the 70s and early 80s a lot of wagons in my area became el caminos.
