Yes, we plan in the spring to put on one or maybe even 2 reservoirs to see if that helps. Nice thing is it's something simple and cheap to try.

I have no experience with this but to me adding a vacuum tank makes sense as a solution. I think back a 1963 Wildcat my Dad had. The vacuum tank on it looked just like the old 48 oz juice cans, but painted black. It would be relatively simple to make something up. Connecting a vacuum gauge and then going for a test drive should confirm if it is the problem.
