It does look like a very nice example. In 1984 those cars were coming from Ste. Thérèse so it is literally a Canadian Pontiac.

Of note are the headers & removal of the catalytic converter, ensuring that it can't be registered in Southern Ontario until it it put back to stock   (or fashion a Monte Carlo SS system)   

They were still selling 5.7 Olds Diesels in those (selling is a loose term, they probably sold about 130 cars in the U.S. is my guess). The diesels came with true duals and without any add-on emissions stuff.

Very nice looking car, looks like it could be your daily driver. A Cdn Pontiac as well...........

 I would be very shocked if someone is selling a 40,000 actual mileage (kilometres) car for that price. I would be willing to bet on it being rolled over at least once since it's possible on those old 5 digit odometers. That would be a screaming deal if it were true.
