1964 Pontiac Parisienne Custom Sport Convertible. Excellent condition, 327 automatic, ps, pb, pw, power top and tilt steering. Lots of high gloss chrome on this beauty. The top is excellent and tonneau cover looks new. This survivor of 55 years has been well cared for and it’s condition reflects this throughout. This auto was appraised in 2004 at 34K, open to offers, also would consider a trade for waterfront property or woodland acreage.
I am suprized by the no interior pics ? tach ? the interiors on those are so darn nice that it don't hurt showing them off when you want alot of money for your pride and joy

Yes indeed, this is a very fine example of a '64 CS ragtop. I especially admire the owner for keeping the factory spinners rather than going with something unsuitable to the class of this car. I do like the color combination. It would not have a factory tachometer since it is only a power glide, not a 4 speed. It appears as though it even has the elusive end caps on the rocker mouldings. The one improvement would have been to keep the factory headlight bezels which should be painted the color of the car, not chrome which all the lesser models had. Nice car.
Boy do I know a guy who would love to have this car! He's the guy I bought the 455 Parisienne off last year. He had the identical twin to this car when I was a teenager. He often talks about that car still. I'm going to have to tell him about it.

Bill, there is a separate stainless piece immediately behind the front wheels. This piece joins the rocker moulding to the front, just behind the front wheel well. There is an end cap at the rear, immediately in front of the back wheel. This piece finishes off the rocker moulding. Finally, there is an end cap at the very back of the rear quarter moulding immediately ahead of the rear bumper. These end caps are not reproduced. They are made of pot metal. Most '64 Custom Sports do not have these end caps since they rot away over the years. Personally, I believe it was an extremely stupid design. The entire mouldings should have been all one piece.

Yeah, from a corrosion standpoint, using Zinc (pot metal) in direct contact with steel (i.e. screwed or clipped to the body), especially when down low on the car where most of the water, salt, slush, etc splash occurs, is not a good idea. Coupled with steel, Zn becomes a sacrificial anode.
What is the rest of the moulding made of? Stainless steel?
Wrong rad, HEI, aluminum intake, non stock air cleaner, likely not original carb, its dressed like a 350, might still be a 327. I think Ive seen that car for sale here here in the Kentville area. It does look very nice.

Unfortunately, the entire moulding is pot metal. Bad choice!
A cast part must have been their only choice to get those complex shapes, and pot metal was likely the cheapest way of attaining it.
It's always interesting to find out these little quirks about car design back in the day. Today, you would not see this material on exterior trim as it's not durable enough. Customers of today would not put up with this like they did in the fifties and sixties.
It's close to where I live, but unfortunately it will be still up for sale next spring if the owner wants close to 34K for it. I might take a boo at it once I return to PEI.
i concur with all Brian has said. The "pot metal" on a good 80 percent of these Custom Sports is corroded.
I notice the owner has done something with the trunk (never a good sign). These cars rotted be time in the trunk (especially convertibles).

Darryl, what is your speculation on the interior? Does the dash pad look to be black as are the door panels? Also, do you think the dark red carpet would be factory? I have never seen this color combination in a '64CS. The ad makes no claim about originality. In my opinion, any color changes, engine compartment modifications and such are irrelevant. Heck, the car is in its 50's. I expect it needed a face lift. I know from personal experience that no one could build this car for $34000.00. Anyone looking for a ragtop, albeit a Pontiac, could not find a nicer looking model year than a '64CS.

I will probably do a rekkie once I get settled back in PEI. It is black over red ... I just don't know if it is legit.
It would be a hard sell this time of year on the Island at his estimated asking price ... Especially if he wants wooded/waterfront property as a trade.

I wonder how long he it? I see it has Nova Scotia plates on it. It looks a lot like one I saw sitting for sales in a car collector's driveway along Hammonds Plains Rd. At that time the sign in the window showed asking $16,000 if memory serves me. It looked nice sitting there so I did a quick walk around it and walked. I didn't speak to anyone. It may not be the same car but I don't imagine there are a lot of them around.

Would your friend's name be Danny from Winnipeg??
