Oh man, you wouldn't stand a chance in that buggy being hit by a truck.

I've organized many similar style events and we always have people posted to intersections and plenty of signs when the route vears off like that. Not saying they didn't but its pretty common practice be it a rally or marathon.

Such a shame to die doing something so cool and that you loved.

Man thats absolutely terrible. Ron is the fellow completely responsible for the incredible display of Gasoline Alley in Heritage Park in Calgary. What a philanthropist.

What a terrible tragedy. Judging by the map it looks like it was an easy mistake to make. The organizers should have had people at that location to direct participants.

 Agreed.  I don't want to pass judgement, but it appears to be an organizational error that allowed this to happen.

wow!
That's terrible!

The gasoline alley display is quite amazing;
I was actually more enamoured by the cars downstairs than upstairs even though the ones upstairs are much nicer than the ones downstairs.

Ron Carey's collection is why Gasoline Alley was built at Heritage Park here in Calgary.

I've met Ron a couple times, my buddy lives in the house Ron built in the 70's, Ron's place is next door.

I toured his office in the early 90's, it displayed a huge collection of petrolia as well as a handful of cars.
