1966 beaumont partial build tag?


we are just taking apart some seats for 66 SD and have found what appears to be a partial builds sheet for the car.  I have found most of the option numbers can not find a couple hoping for some help.

AK1

M31

Y60

Z49

TOP #27

We have the rest of the codes.  The paper is a small strip that appears to have been torn off a bigger sheet of paper .   Has anyone come across this before or know if it was a part of the build sheet?  We know form the cowl tag that it is 66 SD.

Within the context of a '66 Beaumont:


AK1 = Deluxe Shoulder Belts

M31 = ? (M35 = Powerglide, M55 = trans cooler added to air-cooled PG)

Y60 = ? (T60 = h.d. 70 amp-hr battery, Y55 = std 45 amp-hr battery). I wonder if it means 61 amp-hr battery? The 61 a/h was standard with the 327 & 396, but I see no engine option codes on your Line 100 tag.

Z49 = Canadian Base Equipment

Top 27 = Black Vinyl Roof Cover



I am surprised that AK1 appears without A39 Deluxe Belts because they would not install Deluxe Shoulder Belts in a Standard Belt car. Do you have evidence of a buckle clip on the rear trim panels just behind the doors?

U35 Clock is redundant because they were standard on the Beaumont Custom & therefore Sport Deluxe.

Sometimes an undecipherable code will appear on those Line 100 tags under the seat cushion (or on U.S. Build Sheets) that are often nothing more than internal Data Processing codes that have no relevancy or way of decoding.

Canadian built cars didnt have a build sheet but I have seen tags on the seats showing some of the options. Also some cars built in Canada show options on the trim tag but US cars generally only show paint and interior codes.

I found an identical strip with option codes stuck to the springs under the back seat on my 66 Beaumont so that sure looks legit to me. 

Also at least for Chevelle (and I assume Beaumont) the shoulder harness option was available late in the 66 run, like about March.

I think I know what the deal with this strip is now. We just finished redoing the seats and I had a look at the old pattern. My friend had stripped the old seats, prepped the frames and springs for me, I had forgotten what they looked like when we put them away but when I saw the old pattern together with the M31 code from the excellent reference list provided I have concluded that the seats are out of an Olds of the same vintage nor original to his 66 SD.
Thanks for all the input into this interesting little research project. I think it was very worth while for the code lists for all us in future.

Ah, that makes sense. I bet M31 is that two speed auto they used with the switch pitch converter.

Apparently the M31 was the Jetaway trans with fixed stator, M33 was a variable pitch version.

Just reading this now.  Ya those would be some wierd codes if that line tag was for a beaumont.

THe M31 is a givaway that its from an olds,  guess someone switched the seats at some point.

MY BEAUMONT HAS 4 STUDDED TIRES AND 2 BLOCKHEATERS......AND LOTS OF OIL UNDERNEATH.  The other one has a longer roof.

Based on 970 and 302905 this is not a line tag from a Beaumont or Chevelle.
Neither car has a trim code 970 or body order number that start 300000
M31 is an Oldsmobile transmission
Also in 1966 they didn't use the Z49 code yet.
