I believe I am literally the only regular poster on here who lives in Toronto, and by that I mean Toronto, 8 minutes from Yonge and Bloor. I am also beside Johnny D likely one of the few people who go to the downtown core each day to work. Remember Downtown Toronto was Don Cherry's reference to his you people comment. Today I thought I'd make a conscious effort to count as best I could how many people I came across in downtown Toronto who were wearing poppies on my way into work. I kid you not it was about 20% and this on Remembrance Day. Now later at the Old City Hall Cenotaph literally everyone was wearing one, but lets face reality, those at the service are already committed. So my observation in downtown Toronto today is similar to what Don Cherry pointed out. Less and less people in downtown Toronto are wearing poppies.

I just finished reading this article about the Don Cherry getting fired.

For crying out loud the guy is 85 years old,cut him some slack......he cares about our military, more than the politicians that run the military.

I can't believe this reporter who wrote this piece would turn this whole story around into something everyone knows Cherry would never

ever say. Truly sad when our MSM is taking their job of supposedly reporting the news, and instead literally creating their own news.

In my opinion, there are way too many opinion pieces in the media......much easier than researching and giving factual news.

These comments to this article to me, got it right.

"What we need to be telling Canadians is that many, many diverse communities fought in the Great War and the Second World War. "

Who said that they didn't? Certainly not Cherry. Why is the MSM manufacturing a new narrative???

Because that's what the left wing media party Global and it's affiliates do. They don't report the facts anymore they just fabricate the news.

..And this story...

Why didn't this reporter look for,and ask those who weren't wearing poppies, why they weren't doing so?

Certainly there is a huge double standard, Was Don Cherry's hurtful comment any worse than say a leader of a country dressing up in black face on many occasions just for laughs and giggles. He got a pass, Donald S  got removed.

As for that Calgary article, Cherry specifically said downtown Toronto, not Calgary, not Vancouver, not Montreal,. not Winnipeg, TORONTO. Nobody reads or listens anymore just create my own story, fast and easy. The radical MSM isn't satisfied until they actually ruin someones life, they act like bringing a gun to a knife fight,
