I saw head rests in an Olds mounted that way. I thought it was an add on thing. After seeing this car it makes me curious if it could have been an option.

What a great cruiser!

I am curious why there's no M35 on the cowl tag for Powerglide. I am quite sure that would have been an option and normally it's on the tag?

Nice old barge, almost identically equipped to my fathers other than the exterior colour. These were probably the most common 66;s you'd see back in the day

My dads 66 had headrests added like that. They were aftermarket if I remember correctly.  The factory ones didn't get ordered too often. Actually now that I think about it factory headrest probably weren't available on the bench seat. More than likely if you wanted them in this car you would have had to order the strato bench.

Nice looking car. Price seems reasonable.

Got a spare big block and 4-speed hanging around, Carl?  biggrin

Just the M20, not a big block in sight...

Ah well, it was worth a try! biggrin

On another note, did GM make any 4 door 4-speed Canadian Pontiacs back in the day?  Can't say I've ever seen one.

Years ago, when I used to follow Mopars, there were a few 4-door 4-speed cars out there.

I've seen US model 4 door 4 speed Pontiacs (documented) but never a Canadian one.

A guy I know claimed to have worked with someone in the 70's who drove a 4 speed 4 door hardtop 66 Grande Parisienne to work every day.

If I had the ambition and if I wasn't having to live with a very suspicious wife I would pick the thing up and unite it  with a  66 396 engine I have hanging around in a rusty 66 hardtop

It would make a really nice, just powerful enough, cruiser with a stock 396 and TH 400 out of the hardtop. (or a powerglide for that matter) Those 283's worked valiantly but tended to have to huff and puff pretty hard to pull those barges around.

But that ain't gonna happen!

I dunno... sounds like it would be reasonable compensation for "Camino Santiago"... biggrin

Hmmm... so maybe they are out there.  I wonder if it was available if one checked off the right boxes on the order form.
