I didn't look yet, but is it the black 427 that was always parked by the auto centre?

Ah, never mind. Now I looked at the picture. That would be too early for the 427 car to be there but wow, nice picture, lots of cool stuff in the parking lot.

I like the frost shield on the Acadian or Nova. Car heaters have improved greatly since the sixties.

I see a Vauxhall Viva wagon, so it must be from at least time when the 67's were in the showrooms. I see a '63 Chevy II 300, a '63 Galaxie 500, a '64 Acadian Beaumont, 61 & 66 Biscayne wagons, 64 Buick Special, '63 Impala, '64 V200 Valiant, plus a '68 Ford Custom 500 & '68 Cutlass Supreme.

I bet that 64 beaumont is the one that the old man still owns just down the street off john brabeuf.  its a desert beige base model.

Hard to tell if its a custom or a base one.

Loved Woolworths as a kid ... the last of the luncheon counters with bar stools. Great milkshakes!

What was the tie between Woolco & Woolworths? In Calgary, there were various Woolco's around, but I can recall only 1 Woolworths, it was downtown near The Bay on 8th Avenue Mall. The Woolworths was nowhere as big as a Woolco.

 I was wondering the same.

Maybe Woolco was their "big box" store and Woolworths their smaller stores? The Woolworths I used to go to wasn't huge, but still fair size for a store on main street, in downtown Cobourg, Ontario.

It seemed Woolworths was always located in a city's downtown area and Woolco was in the suburbs. We also had "Kresges" which I think was part of K-mart.

 From wikipedia:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woolco

"Woolco was an American-based discount retail chain. It was founded in 1962 in the city of Columbus,Ohio, by the F. W. Woolworth Company. It was a full-line discount department store unlike the five-and-dime Woolworth stores which operated at the time. At its peak, Woolco had hundreds of stores in the US, as well as in Canada and the United Kingdom. While the American stores were closed in 1983, the chain remained active in Canada until it was sold in 1994 to rival Walmart, which was looking to enter the Canadian market. All of the former UK Woolco stores were sold by Kingfisher, who had bought the UK Woolworth business, to Gateway who subsequently sold them to Asda."

I just noticed the paint on the Acadian. Look under the gas cap! SO typical of these cars, they are nasty to fill up without spilling. When I fueled up my 65 I always leaned down and put an ear by the filler neck. The second I heard it gurgle I was done filling. They sloshed out real bad when they filled up.

Ya just like my wagon with the side fill,  all other a bodies with the license fill work just fine,  but the wagon burps bad, usually on my shoes.  But if you can fill up on a quiet evening without the traffic noise then you can hear when its getting close.   and if you get a pump with super high volume,  look out!  go less than half on the trigger.

Used to see a lot of them on the roadsides after having fallen off.  Either that or Winnipeg was bad for hubcap theft...

Dave my wagon was like that until this summer, I added a half inch hose from the neck to the sender. Drilled into the sender and tapped it. Now it fills fast and doesn't splash out.

Cool, i will have to look into doing that.  mine does have the factory vent out the side of the tank up to the filler neck, but it still splashes.  I wonder if gas pump nozzles use to be longer way back when?
