70 Canadian-built GTO in Friendly Manitoba

I guess that makes it a Canadian Pontiac. Ever heard of a 2-tone GTO? Me either! Factory 455, Oshawa-built, 1 of 133 according to the ad.

Interesting ad. I doubt it has power mirrors but it does have power windows and locks but they aren't mentioned.

No engine pictures on a $59,000 car???

Good eye. I noticed it had the square bezels but it didn't register in the brain that they are wrong.

I suggest that the 133 refers to  455 cars. GM canada manufactured  around a total of 1500-1700 GTOs in 1970. A former blog a few weeks ago confirmed this #

A couple other liberties to original are the polished or chromed hood scoops and the sport mirrors. As well as the wheels. All look good but for a $60000 car I would expect a more correct GTO.

It's a dealer, what do you expect, straight talk? wink

Those mirrors look like they are off an F-body with the funny angle.

The L75 455 was not a high-performance engine, though '70 was the only year for high compression on one. High piston speeds & mass mean keeping the revvs down. I heard that they built a single Judge with the L75 in Oshawa. That one ain't a Judge so I would prefer the spoilers be absent. Imagine ordering one with that paint colour combination. confuse.gif

I shot the dealer a note indicating the mirrors weren't power, and that they missed the power door locks. They replied saying they'll check.

Send him another note about the power windows too!

There use to be one of these green 1970 GTO 455 auto when I was stationed in Moosejaw SK back in the early 90s, It was a lot more rusty ... Myself, I'd go for a 400 4 speed car.
