66 disc brakes needed

If any one has disc brakes kit  for a 66 Beaumont I would be interested.  I was planning on buying new kit but seeing the 69 post thought maybe someone has the parts for a 66  Beaumont/Chevelle.  Want to upgrade from drums, my car originally had power assist drums.  Also need drive side door glass and windshield. (broke them removing them)  Out her on the wet coast in the rain and 12 degrees.

You say you're on the west coast so you should have a KMS near you ...

These kits go on sale for less if you can wait...

I believe these are kits from MBM brakes. see http://mbmbrakes.com/

KMS carries the 2 inch drop spindle set up as well.  I suspect KMS would order in whatever MBM kit you wanted, so it might be worthwhile looking at the MBM site then calling KMS if you want something a little different than the standard kit (e.g. slotted or larger rotors, bigger calipers etc.).

Sorry, can't help with the glass, but the good news is, these are standard Chevelle pieces and I believe they are readily available.

Contacted KMS about the 66 A body kit.

First reply was plz send sku number that was in orig email.

I re-sent their sku number and their part no and req shipping to Goderich, On.

Took almost 36 hours for a reply. Shipping for the full kit = $355...YIKES and add 3% if paying by credit card.

They said kit weighs 367 lbs and is on a 48x40x24 skid.......seems a little much for something that would fit in two boxes.

Too bad their customer service sucks, the price for the kit seemed fair.

The KMS kit is actually from MBM Brakes. Maybe contact them direct to find a supplier closer to home?

I used 1970 Chevelle spindles, with slotted/vented Raybestos rotors and calipers for the 1970 Chevelle on my 1965 300 dlx. Great brakes and done reasonably cheap. A body stuff.

Rotor weights will kill you for shipping in Canada-maybe try having a kit shipped from the states to a U.S. shipping address close to you. Usually their prices are very reasonable compared to CANADA SHIPPING. But then again the dollar is expensive now but it may save you a few bucks. Original disc brakes from 69-72 A-body or Monte,Pontiac GP will all work-have you tried Rock Auto? I have heard good things about them as well. Only problem with original is everything usually has to be rebuilt or replaced re; calipers, rotors, brake pads etc..Nothing on our cars are cheap anymore LOL.bUT ONCE YOU PUT THE DISC BRAKES ON YOU'LL WONDER WHY YOU DID NOT DO IT SOONER!

Thanx for the replies and suggestions. Although the drums work perfect on the 67

I've been thinking about a c/o for a while so will do some more research. Stay tuned.
