congrats!!

I quite liked the article.

Funny thing, is that I recently received that issue, then a week later, received the next one... I guess Canada post is getting through the Christmas backlog?

My only qualm with the article (I don't know if it was anything you said), was that it suggested something along the lines of 1973 "barely made 8:1 compression" when in fact your engine made a true 8.0:1 - no "barely about it!
For the better engines it looked like this for these years:
1971-1972 = 8.4:1
1973-1974 = 8.0:1
1975-1976 = 7.6:1

I think that consistently the 1971-1974 D-port motors are overshadowed to the point of discrediting because of the round port motors available those years...
I'd wager that your original 4x heads should be able to be milled to bump compression, raise performance, and still be the "stock" part.

We recently reassembled my brother's 1973 350;
When it was sent off for machining, we had the heads milled to bump compression;
And we sourced a period intake and carb with the intent of running the numbers drivetrain as a 1973 350HO.
Plans changed a bit, as he ended up gutting the crossover from a free 1968 intake;
His car is slowly being put back together as a four speed car (was a TH350 car), and the eventual plan is to build a 455 for it;
He has headers now, but has come around to admitting the headers he bought are a PITA, and might go back to manifolds of some sort.

Video of 1973 Pontiac 350's first run.

Again, congrats on the article on you car in the premier Musclecar magazine none the less!!

Well, it reads like I made a wrong assumption.
Since I don't know your car, name or actual location, and only had the initial
post to go on;
In the February 2020 issue of HMM there is a '73 GTO owned by a BC resident Mike Pudsey;
I has guessed this was the issue off HMM & car in question...
