I bought an item from a guy in Drumbo Ontario. He shipped it on the 19th. I was starting to get concerned as I have not received it yet. Check out the tracking. Looks like it took a wrong turn in Dieppe, NB

Isn't this the second time this has happened to you?

I've never had this happen.

Yes. I've also heard the Dieppe postal station often delays mail going to Newfoundland. It's pretty much a given if you live there you never get your Amazon items on time.

Well the parcel finally arrived yesterday. Two of the 5 items were damaged. One is this fairly rare Matchbox "Souvenir" promotional Boeing 747 mounted on an ashtray. The ashtray is busted.

The second victim was this Corgi Simon Snorkel Fire Engine. The bucket on the end of the boom was busted.

That sucks. Not surprising since it basically went to the moon and back!

Do you believe it was damaged in transit, or were you sold damaged goods?

No, they were damaged in transit. Seller is a good guy and I had lots of photos. I spoke to him tonight. He's going to send me two items of similar value and condition and I'm going to pay shipping if he can't get that looked after. He has his shipping receipt, photos of the damage and the tracking number showing the parcel taking the long way to PEI.

That's too bad on the 747 ashtray. The ladder bucket could maybe be repaired?

I need to root around in the box everything came in to see if some of the bucket pieces are in there. I may have to scout the dreaded Ebay for a good used one. There are many parts reproduced for Corgi, Dinky, Matchbox etc but surprisingly the bucket isn't one of them. The fireman are reproduced as is the fire hose nozzle.

Ya, there may be a beater Firetruck out there with a good bucket on it.

Was the Simon Snorkel Fire Engine the only Corgi that this bucket was on?

I checked out those links. All the trucks are several times more $ than I paid for this one though.
