Has anyone heard of or used this place?

gigfigstore.com

I found a deal on something there that is WAY better that the same item anywhere else including ebay, Amazon etc.  It's almost too good to be true...

That's what I'm wondering.

I tried buying something. It's under $100 and it's Paypal so in theory I should be protected and it's not my life savings if not.

And my Paypal is setup so nobody will get much money or financial information from me if they hack the Paypal account and/or the credit card that funds it.

Remember this? I asked about it because I was a little bit leery of it. I decided to take a chance and order the tool I was looking at, $74 US. A couple of days later, no reply from the seller and I dug into it more. The more I read, the more I was convinced I'd been scammed. I contacted Paypal, told them my story and they opened a dispute. Of course the seller didn't reply because it's a scam and today I got an email from Paypal telling me my money will be refunded. My first time getting scammed and my gut told me all along not to do it, shoulda listened. No harm done, thanks to Paypal...

Soooo, do NOT use the gigfigstore website........

Though I'd mention be careful purchasing stuff off of kijiji to. Kijiji has been awesome for me over the years, and is a very safe site as you all probably know. It's the scammers that that sometimes put stuff up for sale. Me living in whitehorse limits you on purchasing certain things sometimes. I was heading down to Alberta for a trip with the family to get out of whitehorse for a bit. I needed a 22re engine or parts to complete my 4 runner project. Long story short, I transferd some money to a guy to hold the engine till I got there, the add the guy had up was a scam. So I learned my lesson not everyone one kijiji are honest peaple like us. Hope this helps. Dont get this wrong, kijiji is a awesome buy and sell site for sure.

 Good to know.

Years ago I ran across a website (I forget the name) that was to good to be true. It seemed like they had everything I wanted at great prices. I was a little leery and sent them inquiries about products up front ... no replies.

I wonder if some websites can populate themselves with your internet searches? Maybe I'm a bit out there by thinking this, Big Brother stuff, but like I said "they had everything I wanted".

In this case it least it wasn't that way. Pretty much all the other stuff I saw didn't interest me but this tool did. It looked more like a site for some place that might have bought up bankrupt businesses or something, a little bit of this and little bit of that. I've seen ebay auctions for guys who do that so it wasn't impossible that the site was legit but once I googled the email address all kinds of feedback put up red flags.
