I was looking to buy a '60s "corn-binder" at one point.

I also like early Toyota Landcruisers and Rovers. Like the ones in those old African safari TV shows. smile

Me too however most of those older 4x4's are becoming unaffordable. I just read a Hagerty article stating the Jeep Cherokee XJ's are now starting to climb in value.

My eyes my eyes, i hope this does not lead to permanent eye damage. Scrap both those monstrosities there or use them for parts as donors to worthy project cars. biggrin

Must have used a flippin' Suburban chassis to get a 4x4 with a long enough wheelbase!

This is now a competition for the nastiest transformations known to man. This 66 sad beast is a sad sack of an automobile but i still say the 57 Poncho and the 57 Chev wagon are far more frightening to cast your eyes on. I am now wearing sunglasses to be able to withstand the eye damage caused by these befuddled monstrosity's. dohbleh

As much as I like 66 Pontiacs, this is not very appealing.

I have always taught my kids to look for something in a car that stands out that you like or impresses you in the design or build. I see our cars as a blank canvass to create an extension of ourselves. Personally I get a kick out of moded cars, I may not want to own one like some of the builds but a 4x4 57 Chevy car, sign me up.

I've restored a couple cars over the years but am a big fan of the day 2 look and the 70's/80's street freak. My 2+2 is going to be ruff on the outside, like I pulled from the bush but solid underneath with a fresh interior and engine/engine bay. The 57 in my projects list will be a blown street freak. My 69 Bird will be done with 69 TA appointments but stay the factory Goldenrod yellow (not my favourite colour). Each one of my cars will be and is an extension of the original as I see it.

I guess what I am saying is that it is a bit disappointing when I see fellow members cut down or call a car a house of horrors. If those cars hadn't been rebuilt, they truly would of been junk and one less classic would be around.

Lets all enjoy our hobby and appreciate the effort others have done, whether we like it or not.
