RE: For the people buying up all the toilet paper.

What kills me is that people (sheep) are lining up a foot away from each other for a long time at the store check-outs just for toilet paper, and other non sensible products. It's the perfect venue for virus transfer, which they are in fear of getting in the first place!confuse

Anxiety and idiocy is reigning supreme.

I agree wholeheartedly with the previous 4 comments.

Co-operation and empathy are going to be critical to getting through this thing if it becomes as bad as it seems. Selfishness and greed won't solve it. I'm afraid I can't applaud the Lysol vendors.

I was at Shopper's Drug Mart in Dorchester Ontario at 8am.

Not to panic buy, we do this every other Saturday.

The line up had already formed.

The manager came out ant told people,

"We have a skid of Toilet paper, 2 packs limit."

"Every day ! we will have a fresh skid. to sell"

"So if you don't get yours today, you can come back any day"

I got A pack,

it was on my wife's list.

Too bad it was right beside the skid of Coca-Cola, took me forever to get through them.

Out of the store by 8:15.

They were waiting for my cart when I came through the exit !

No more shopping today.

If you need me, I'll in my loft sorting Canadian Pontiac parts biggrin

Local Costco got a shipment in yesterday. It was sold out in an hour. For the next shipment they are limiting purchase to two packets per customer.

Actually if you don't wipe at all you'll find social distancing happens automatically. Much safer.

My wife was just at a CO-OP and all the shelves are bare--really!!! And the prices have risen incredibly as well. What is it with people now a days. Mention the word Pandemic and society panics!! And why aren't the grocery stores putting limits on a per person on items. And what's with KD @ $2.19/box?? Fuel prices are down so the food prices shouldn't go up. Talk about gouging. Drastic times are going to require drastic measures.......and it's just getting started .

With the KD apparently people are panicking about that too. I know someone that works at a local grocery store, he said for some reason they are buying cases of kd too, for what reason I dont know.

KD keeps forever and some are worried supply chains will break down. There was some concerned voiced by the big food producers (General Foods etc) that some ingredients may become scarce as some overseas countries are banning exports of some food items.

Unnecessary panic, just like the toilet paper fiasco.  If everybody keeps their heads about them, demand will be moderate and there will always be options (like regular pasta and sauce instead of KD).  It's just when people are buying up 8 months worth of supplies for a situation that will probably only last a few weeks to a couple of months at the most that it goes off the rails.  You see it locally when a big snowstorm is predicted - people panic and buy enough stuff to last them in the event that they are snowed in for a month - when in reality the worst storm we ever had caused us to be snowed in for 2 days...

You really get to know how stupid humanity really is in general, in situations like this with the virus. Once this pandemic is over, there will be hoards of people returning countless amounts of stuff. I only hope that all stores across the board refuse returns. There should be a special consideration for stores during a pandemic, as far as refusing returns of this kind of magnitude. It would serve all these butt heads right, to be stuck with mounds of stuff they can not return. Maybe then and only then will selfish and greedy people learn a very valuable lesson.
