You really get to know how stupid humanity really is in general, in situations like this with the virus. Once this pandemic is over, there will be hoards of people returning countless amounts of stuff. I only hope that all stores across the board refuse returns. There should be a special consideration for stores during a pandemic, as far as refusing returns of this kind of magnitude. It would serve all these butt heads right, to be stuck with mounds of stuff they can not return. Maybe then and only then will selfish and greedy people learn a very valuable lesson.

Absolutely. one of my family members works at a supermarket. And the store now marked no returns on all items! For this time. They basically said you take it home, you touched it, you keep it.

I was just at WALMART it was shocking. No toilet paper at all. Reluctant, but desperate, I walked to the customer service counter and asked if they had any. The lady gave me a disgusted look and an emphatic NO in response. Walking back to the bathroom with my pants around my ankles is something I hope I never have to do again...

Then there's these folks...

One six-pack of wipes goes for about $20 at Costco, but fetches upward of $80 online, they said. Ranga told Quan they'd spent about $70,000 in bulk buys, and raked in about $100,000 in sales.

"I don't think it would be a stretch to say that, you know, they were essentially kind of proud of this business venture that they had sort of seized upon."

Perez told Quan it's all about the laws of supply and demand, referring to herself and her husband as "hustlers."

"And Mr. Ranga called me out of the blue yesterday to notify me that following [U.S. President] Donald Trump's public address the other night, the demand online for his cleaning products had shot up and that's why he had increased his price [from] about $75 to $89 to sort of take advantage of that."

Where are laws to nail these bottom feeder scum suckers, in Canada as well as the U.S. Some of the worst kind of scum are butt heads like these. dohbleh

I did some grocery shopping yesterday at our local Superstore and was suprised that not only were they still out of toilet paper, but there was very little in regards to household cleaners, soap, and even dishwasher tablets. Also some foods like pasta were still showing low inventories. Is this the same all over Canada?

It's like that in my neck of the woods also. A lot of canned foods were showing lower inventories.

I'm looking into going to a 24-hour Sobey's in Charlottetown at around 2:00 AM

I don't think they will be open. I believe they are cutting their hours to deep clean overnight so the seniors are safe at 7am.

That empty headed woman should wear that toilet seat around her neck. Just to warn people that she is coming their way. This sad girl will forever have this video hanging over her empty head, for the world to see. confuse

Next time check for pasta in the gluten free area (my wife requires gluten free food)

The supply seems to always be plentiful there....I can't taste any difference between regular and gluten free.

Although some are better than others.

One problem I found was never finding gluten free toilet paper...... always seems to out of supply too. biggrin

I read a story where a old guy said he ran out of TP so he started wiping with bounce sheets. He smells so much fresher now and no more wrinkles.

Yes, I went for a late-night grocery run on Thursday night to avoid the crowds.  Arrived about 11 pm as I knew they closed at midnight.  Got through it and was able to get everything (including a pack each of paper towel and TP) except ground beef, which was stripped from the shelves.  I was able to get a piece of beef for roasting, though.  They had signs up limiting the amounts of TP, milk (4 max), ground beef (3 max), and another item that I can't remember now.

Anyhow, when I went through the checkout the teller advised me that the next day they were shortening their hours.  7am - 8am for seniors, and 8am - 8pm for the rest of us.  When I asked why she said it was to make it more safe for their staff (less exposure time I suppose) and to give them more time to restock, which is understandable.  Means that the next time I shop it will have to be in the crowds, I suppose.  Hopefully the mania will have died down by then and people will realize that they don't have to panic-buy.

On the news last night they interviewed the president of London Drugs and he said that he understood the run on hand sanitizer, but couldn't figure out why people focused on toilet paper.  It defies logic.  Anyhow, he said their warehouse staff were doing long shifts to keep the stores stocked, and that there are no concerns about running out of anything.

Lately we've been eating brown rice pasta - I actually like it better than the regular wheat-based stuff.  Plenty of it on the shelves too.

I did see gluten free on the shelf. We eat it often. I have to mostly stick to foods with organic wheat as non-organic gives me wicked headaches that feel like an ear infection and goes right into my neck. Took me a long time to figure out what the cause of these head/earaches were (thank my wife for nailing that down for me) . I can handle pasta from Italy as I assume it's either the type of wheat or a pesticide they don't use there.

We had a good laugh in Arizona at the house we rented. It's an AirBnb rental, the same house we rented last year. We have gotten to know the lady very well online but had never met. Anyway, they were in town when we arrived and we took them out for supper, got to know them even better. We had a different house the first two weeks and then moved to her (their) house on the 15th. They have a security camera at the front door which includes a speaker on it and she can watch it live on her phone, and talk to the people renting their house even when they are home in Montana. Anyway, as we were moving in, unknown to me, she was watching me on the camera as I carried stuff in. I hadn't even thought about it as I walked to the door carrying a case of toilet paper which we bought to supply the place while we were there. Suddenly I hear her voice, "Carl, is that toilet paper you just carried into the house"???!!! I said "Shhh, we don't want to get robbed"!
