Yes, Regina. (I have to sound it out for some persons on other boards.)
First, I'd like to thank all of you. I've lurked here for years and I've referred many, many others to this site for your specific knowledge and resources.
Canadian Pontiacs: I don't have one, but I've had a couple in the past. I have GM in my blood and I'm "fiercely" patriotic, so what's not to love?
- I once had two '63 Parisienne convertibles under my roof. One was my uncle's. He had "commissioned" me to do the paint and body work. Nice car, white with a pristine red interior, excellent condition except for the hack paint job and a bondo filled rear quarter, 283/PG. The other, I bought with intentions to restore it for my mother, completely defining the term "sister car". It was a little rough, but decent, also 283/glide.
- Straight out of tech school, I worked for a guy with a full service auto shop. He had a '67 Laurentian two door sedan. 396 car, former RCMP with speed indicator and "certified calibration" or something of the like (I don't recall exactly) scripted on the speedo face. I always wonder what happened to that car, it had to be unique among the unique...
- A friend had a... '68 Beaumont? I haven't seen him in years but I remember the car, sort of. If I'm not mistaken, it was a post car and there was something, or some things about it... freakazoid SD, perhaps? It was blue and a beautiful, unmolested original "find" as I recall. I would think he's a member here, or was. (If anybody knows, let me know, please.)
My username refers to a half-baked nickname and my project car, a '38 Chevy two door sedan, actually built here in Regina. (Proven fact, unlike many who falsely believe their cars were.) I see there's been some discussion on the subject and the plant's history is another strong interest of mine.
Chevrolet is my first love, quite literally. My high school car was a '67 Impala SS - 327/4spd. I had it 27 years, sold it in the spring of 2001.
I've blabbered long enough, so I'll cut if off here. I'm still learning this format, it's new to me, but I'll figger it out and contribute, hopefully!
I'm sure you've long figured out, you only need to have an interest in Canadian Pontiacs to be a fine upstanding member!
It's a long shot but in the early 80's in my little town in southern Manitoba a 67 Post Laurentian 396 RCMP car showed up. The guy bought it out of area, stripped the engine to replace the one he blew up in his 70 Chevelle SS and crushed the car. I recall it was either some shade of brown or it was black, not certain.

Why do you ask? Do I owe you money? Seriously, I've never been comfortable posting personal info on a public board. PM me if you like. I'll answer any question you might have!

Thank You, too.
The car I knew was black. I saw it last in 1985. I can't imagine it going to the crusher, unless it wrecked already... or did the guy crush a perfectly good car?

Yes Crank, in hindsight I guess it sounds suspect. No worries, just like to call people by their name is all. Cheers.

Yes he did, he just wanted the engine. Sad... This was before 1985 though, I'm quite sure so it's not likely the same car.

A hardy welcome aboard from Milton, Ontario. You will love C.P. and keep coming back for more. We need information on your 1938 Chevy and we demand pictures of your baby. Ask away any questions you may have on Chevy's, Pontiac's or what have you. There are usually answers to questions here on C.P. and enjoy your C.P. journey. Cheers. George

No problem. I feel like a turd, so let me explain myself. My name is not common. There's some deadbeat, no good, bad debt scumbag somewhere in the country with the same name. This piece of work, unfortunately, has the same last name as well. Can I ask for anything more? Sure I can. I can ask every collection agency, probation officer and single mother in the country to move along, because I'm not that person. This crap has been going on for years.
I've done this before and I'll do it here. I go by my middle name (Thanks Mom) for the most part. That's the tainted one I won't repeat. My proper first name is Vernon, but you can call me Vern. I'll answer to any of the three because I've been doing it all my life.

'64 Parisienne CS "barn find" - last on the road in '86 ... Owner Protection Plan booklet, original paint, original near-mint aqua interior, original aqua GM floor mats, original 283, factory posi, and original rust.
