Mystery part


Found this sitting on top of my front lower control arm. I installed disk brakes last fall but never got to drive it. Itd a rubber button, looks like a bumper of some sort. I think this is the retainer end, not the bumper end. I have no idea where it is from. Its pretty messed up. Any ideas? MY BEAUMONT HAS 4 STUDDED TIRES AND 2 BLOCKHEATERS......AND LOTS OF OIL UNDERNEATH.  The other one has a longer roof.

You are correct sir! Thanks I guess leaving the car up on stands all winter with the upper control arm sitting on the bump stop is maybe not the way to do it. It was obviously the last straw for that 54 year old piece of rubber. I found the rest of it when I lifted the control arm up off the bumper. Bummer. Or bumper. For winter Ive put the car up on jack stands for years. Always thought it helped avoid mice. Never thought about the bumpers. Ill be checking the other side too.
