The GM build sheet on my 1966 SD 396 says D 99 Special two tone paint, moulding. Original Y code lemonwood yellow. Any thoughts on what a two tone paint job on a 66 Beaumont looks like, and why print moulding after it? Thanks.
I just learned about D99 molding, it was the divider molding, usually associated with 2 tone, but not always. It could be used as a vinyl roof divider or paint divided on wagons.

That is correct. Alot of canadian cars seem to have it. And there are a ton of them out there with the D99 option, but not 2 tone painted. i guess some people just liked the extra chrome accent without 2 colors.

MY BEAUMONT HAS 4 STUDDED TIRES AND 2 BLOCKHEATERS......AND LOTS OF OIL UNDERNEATH. The other one has a longer roof.
D99 all by itself was a Canada-only deal (unless you count the South African Beaumonts which were CKD from Canada).
I remember a brand new '71 base Chevelle sport coupe a few block from our house with the D99 moldings. It was dark green like the sedan shown below and had wheel covers & whitewalls to complete the exterior.
Below is a '72 Chevelle Malibu sedan with 3 extra molding options from the factory. It has B90 window frames, D99 2-tone moldings, and B84 body-side moldings. 1972 was the last year for the D99 standalone.
It would be cool to get D-99 molding for a '64 I have.

Yes, my 70 Parisienne has D99 on the cowl tag, it's code 55 Baja Gold top & bottom. However when it was painted sometime in the past they didn't get the color right.
