A friend's finished Deco design truck.

Like George I'm digging into some old pictures which I had stored on my old computer.  I'll try post a few pictures of my good friends Dale and Diane's handbuilt truck.  All on air and powered by a 502 the only thing original is the firewall.  Very nicely built over quite a few years.  I went down to the Good Guys in Pleasanton, California almost 5 years ago with them and they won the builder award for it.  If you need a custom frame made they are the people to see.

I remember your garage tour pictures of this truck. What a unique beauty! How many hours are into it Jerel?

Wow, great looking truck and lots of quality fabrication work. The Chrysler dash looks great in there.

Ill check with Dale. Knowing him he will just probably laugh and say quite a few. Diane will know better. She keeps their books.

Yeah I should look for some of those garage tour pictures as they showed all the neat stuff below this body. He implemented an equalization system from a company locally in the valley that puts slides into Prevost coaches. When you enter a banked corner it adjusts the air to each corner of the truck keeping your unit level. There is an air bag at each corner and it is always adding or taking away air from the various corners. Just a little control that moves as your frame moves side to side. Sort of cool technology. This company here in Salmon Arm developed that particular  system. Im sure there are many others similar.

Did you ever ride in it Jerel? It must be a jaw dropper on the road.

Would have like to be there when they got it out of the driveway, LOL, Jerel took me on a tour one day to see this thing, Amazing work they do.
Very steep driveway onto a flat crossroad.

No, I have never ridden in it. On our trip to Pleasanton I followed them all the way down in my Beaumont. I was known as the exhaust analyst as we had a couple computer issues and I would hear the problem at the same time theyd experience it.

The joke was when we stopped for fuel or food or lodging I would charge a buck for ever photo taken!  It was crazy as people come scrambling out from these venues and the phones are clicking. Could have paid for our fuel and hotels easily.  On one occasion I thought I was going to see a complete wipe out. Going down a 4 lane highway in California and a guy comes flying by us in the fast lane.  We usually just cruise at 65-70. He then hits the brakes and pulls back beside me and starts videoing the truck. He does this for maybe half a minute or more and I see him getting further and further over to the far shoulder. Finally he catches part of it and then corrects coming back in at us. Luckily he got it straightened out and was on his way. It was like this the whole way. People speeding by us and then slowing up to take a couple pictures. Was a fun trip.

That is beautiful.  It appeals heavily to my love of COE cab designs, and early sixties Chrysler instrumentation.  It's almost hard to believe that somebody can create such works of art in a home shop.  Thanks so much for sharing.

Well like Rick can tell you everything just happens in an oversized garage behind their house and from the road you would never guess what is going on unless you see one of his projects heading out the door.  Dale is in his seventies now and prefers not to do finished vehicles but specializes in custom frames shipped all over the States and even to Hawaii.  He has a frame table with many cars like all the old Chevies, Fords, Studes, Anglias, Willys, and such.  Much of the suspensions he has designed in house.  Brilliant guy but you better show him where the button is to end a call if he borrows your I-phone.  You can go on his website dalegerry.com and you will see many of his pictures of the build.  There is only one Dale!

I was like a Kid in a candy store, did not know where to look next. And what he was doing in that size of shop.
a 74 Celica that he replaced " from half way down the door, including the floor." along with a custom chassis sent waiting for body.

Sorry #3 is a little blury.
