You can buy this aluminum 409, newly designed Z12 aluminum heads, and aluminum intake. 540CI, 955HP and 756 torque on a dyno. I'm hoping somebody rich will buy me one, and the transmission to go behind it.

 

Its in a 61 Biscayne 2 door, I think it broke into the 8's in the 1/4, it has 3 pedals Carl.biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Pretty close Pete.....here's a view from the front.....same car as the one you posted....biggrin

This is the Motor Trend article from 1961 that got it all started for me......smile

We had a neighbor with a 61 white 348 Impala 3 speed and traded it in on a 62 409-409 white Biscayne.

Tried to get my dad to buy the 61 Impala but his answer was I'm driving an Oldsmobile, why would I want a Chev.
