Hoping someone might have a picture of...

Hoping someone might have a closeup picture of the '66 Beaumont SD elusive side trim (that runs along the bottom third of the car).  Reason I ask is that I've just pulled some off of a '69 Coupe DeVille and I was wondering if it might be modified as a replacement for the Beaumont.)

Thanks in advance...

I have been told by someone that the rocker trim on mine are actually Malibu or Chevelle parts. Then again, at a car show last summer while I was walking around, my wife was told by a self professed expert that my Beaumont was not a true Sport Deluxe. Something to do with trim. That expert obviously didnt know that the Sport Option was available with engine options ranging from the 230 cu in six up to the 396. Mine, being a factory six, doesnt have the V8 symbol on the front fender. I assume that is the trim he was referring to.

Maybe I will throw on a picture of mine just to see what you guys think.

Point is, nobody will call you out on non stock trim. And of the few that actually know what a Beaumont is, we dont necessarily know the difference between factory correct and a tastefully crafted replacement. Go for it!

I don't know if the Caddy & Beaumont share the same profile & size on the side annodized trim but it looks initially like it bears investigation.

Measure twice, cut once. Good luck!

Thanks for the photo's and the feedback gents. The beauty is that although I was only able to recover 4 of the 6 on the Caddy, they do have some length to them LOL. (I also removed the taillights as they themselves are almost a piece of art.)
Hoping someone might still be able to post a close up shot of profile/shape of the trim.
thx again.

You know what you might want to check, the pair of parallel moldings on the side of a '67 Beaumont Custom. Check the upper ones. They might even be the same as the '66 SD (I can't check, my Beaumont Parts Book is inaccessible).

Plenty of people remove & discard the 1967 Custom moldings. I'll bet the upper moldings are shared with the '66 Sport Deluxe.

Ahhh, good point. I'm guessing that those might be hard to come by as well but I'll keep my eyes open.
thx

They are close to being the same, the 66 ones had little tabs that went under the wheel well mouldings . They did away with the tabs on the 67 models

My car got hit in the door somewhere along the way, back in 70's-80's and the driver side door molding is shorter and the one behind door is missing the tab, I assume they changed the design on these after 66.

I honestly don't think it would be terribly hard to make these from steel and have them chromed, maybe I will experiment this winter.

the lower ribbed rocker trim is Chevelle SS. The regular Chevelle had  non ribbed trim.

A little less pronounced than this moulding off a DeVille. Do-able though I think...
