Thanks for the post! I might go for a drive now and look at the floodway and might even get as far south as Morris!

It will give me something to do.

Sheesh!

We won't have enough runoff here to fill a swimming pool...

Is it going to be a bad year?

We've had the highest tides since I've moved here this weekend. The river behind my property is all the way to the edge of our woods. Usually it's about 100 feet out. It was still rising when I took these photos.

At worst it will get up a little bit on the bridge showing on that camera. We had a similar flood in 96 and 06, they were almost identical floods. At that time we were on the farm and spent about 15 days boating a mile to our vehicles parked on dry roads. Nothing like we had in 97 (the worst) or 09 where it was 14" less than 1997. In 97 the railings on the sides of that bridge in the picture would have had about 3-4 feet of water over them, you could boat over top of the railings with any boat.

I don't think so but it will likely be close. I'm betting it will get in the ditch past his place.

I think so. I'm pretty sure his yard will get water in it, it's just a matter of how much. It may just be a few inches. Problem is, you have to do it ahead of time. You can't leave it to the last minute thinking it may not make it because it's not something he can do in an hour or two.

He has moved a lot of the good stuff up permanently to high ground but still lots of good cars and parts are down in the danger zone.

There, ready to pile dirt on the highway if/when it's needed.

I have a feeling this could turn out to be another "flop", much less than they are predicting. I could be wrong though, I haven't been following with the same keen interest as when we were on the farm and I had to keep up to plan our escape when the road was going to go under.

Prediction today is it's fizzling out, they dropped their worst case scenario by 2 feet, which is huge. That mean no water on the highway you see in the image above.

Yes it looks like another non-event this year , thankfully . I'm sure the colder weather recently helped a lot

Yes, for sure the cold has made a difference. It helped that we had below average snowfall this winter too.

How close are you guys to 2006 right now, do you know?

Glad that your flooding situation looks manageable this year.  At least a bit of good news for a change.

Looks like they are expecting New Brunswick to remain mild this year as well, with only some minor flooding reported along the Saint John River.
