The RCMP confirmed in their news conference that this was an actual photo of his car.

Shooter caught on video pulling over and changing uniforms. So nonchalant.

On Friday, Campbell said police are still trying to determine where Wortmain obtained the mock vehicle he used in the rampage. RCMP are also looking for anyone who may have assisted Wortman or who can provide information about how he obtained his vehicles or pieces of authentic uniform.

Campbell said the RCMP have located the source of the materials used to produce the decals that were affixed to the side of Wortmans look-alike police cruiser. They have not, however, determined who printed the decals or if someone assisted in adding them to the vehicle.

Police have also located the source of the lightbar that was placed on top of the look-alike cruiser, he said.

In terms of the uniform, several pieces of clothing Wortman was wearing were recovered, Campbell said. Some of these are parts of older uniforms issued by the RCMP, while one piece of clothing is from another police force.

Campbell did not elaborate on how Wortman came to possess these materials, adding that this is part of the ongoing investigation.

As for the firearms Wortman used, Campbell said he had access to a handgun, a shotgun and other long-barrel weapons. He also stole Stevensons sidearm after killing her.

The RCMP are investigating the origin of these weapons having previously said Wortman did not hold a licence to own firearms in Canada saying Friday that all but one of the guns he used are believed to have come from the United States.

Exactly how these weapons were transported between the U.S. and Canada is part of the ongoing global investigation, Campbell said.

I wonder if the photo of the suspects car is the actual car or if they took a stock photo of a new car and photoshopped the graphics. It looks a little iffy as the graphics (mostly) seem sharper than the rest of the car photo.

They have determined that the picture of the car was taken inside Wortmans garage. A man from a detailing service had worked on motorcycles for Wortman and recognized the buildings interior. I have seen new police cruisers at the dealer near me with decals applied, but no police lighting installed. I wonder if the car was stolen from a dealership? We may never know.

The news conference answers some of those questions and indicates that they are working on the others.

The more we learn, the more it hurts. I'm so sorry for the victims and their families and friends.

Until the police realized what was happening, seems the guy came and went as he pleased with such an accurate replica.

I saw it stated that he had been seen (had contact) numerous times during the crisis without any police realization. And that one officer had actual knowledge of the car just after the decals went on. Perp said he wanted it for car shows, and was told by an officer "it had to be trailered to the show".

It was sheer luck that the shooter needed fuel and stopped at a gas station where several police officers in an unmarked car were also filling up. Who knows what other carnage he would have caused as at that point he was driving a victim's car that the police likely had not identified.

I'm sympathetic to the dilemma the police faced overnight Saturday in keeping the shooter hemmed in a perimeter when they were unaware of how he was disguising himself.  They didn't know what they were looking for at that point it seems.

Yes, it sounds like the killer was a chameleon at different junctures of the rampage.
