This 1969 Honda Z50A is powered by a 49cc four-stroke single mated to a three-speed transmission with an automatic clutch and finished in red and silver. Equipment includes a two-up Honda seat, Nitto tires, chrome fenders, and twist-lock handlebars. The bike was recently purchased by the seller, reportedly from a previous owner of over 15 years. Work in March 2020 included having the fuel tank repainted as well as an oil change and battery replacement. This Z50A is offered at no reserve with a tool set and a Michigan bill of sale.

Never had one, but seriously wanted one as a kid.  Did know some other kids who had them, though, and got to ride on a couple back in the day.

Man, does that bring back memories!

Had a yellow 71. Ditched the bicycle and rode it everywhere in the summer of 75. When I say everywhere, I mean the backstreets at night, every night and the trails during the day.

Blew the transmission from power shifting it (hold shift lever down in first, rev the snot out of it and let the lever up), and that was that.

Before that, the only thing it ever needed was a chain, sprockets and brake shoes. Tough little buggers. I've been watching the market for a few years now, but 4800 US is just insane.

My best friend still has his. Same bike, same colours. It hasn't seen the light of day in a long time, however...

Being older than most of you....from the first half of the 60's.

This is the Honda 50 that I remember, and no I didn't have one.

1963 Honda 50 - my father said I couldn't have a motorcycle, but I could get a Honda - the power of advertising!

I still own the identical twin to this bike. I'm the original owner, bought it brand new in 1974.  However, I sold it (can't even recall who I sold it to at that time) and lost track of it for a number of years. It never left the area and eventually my cousin on the farm ended up with it. Maybe 10 years ago I called him asking what happened to it and he said he still had it, was sitting in his shed for the last 10 years or so. When I asked if I could buy it he said sure, but before I could even get there, a few hours later he drove up to our house with his pickup and unloaded it. Free!  It needs restored but I'm excited about doing it.  It will likely be one of my first projects after retirement this fall.

When I bought my 90 new, my friend had a new CT70. We did lots of riding together. Those 70's had a very unique sound as I recall.

Good score on that one for 500 bucks!

Ya, a couple friends had mini-bikes. I rode a friend's Fox a lot. We used to put a mix of aviation fuel/gasoline in it now and then. Top fuel mini-bike!biggrin

I restored a 1966 S90 Honda and sold it to a fellow from San Jose 2 years ago in October. The bike was beautiful, fully functional and the fellow that purchased the bike originally had a similar S90 in Vietnam in the early 70's.

The gentleman fled war torn Vietnam as a refugee, eventually making his way to the US, where he settled and began a new life in San Jose. So, he was pushing 60 something in age. I had my S90 on ebay, he bought it, flew to Minneapolis where his friend lived, and they both drove up to Wpg in his friend's Nissan Pathfinder to pick up the S90. The Pathfinder had a bike rack that mounted to the trailer hitch and they loaded it up, and away he went back to Minneapolis and eventually to San Jose. He was so happy driving this S90 up and down the street before he loaded it up.

I know a fellow here in Mb that collects these CT's and restores them. He has many, like 20 to 30 of them and actaully furnishes his house with them. He also restores old cars but is a bit of a enigma. He might even have more than 20 or 30.

Is that the fellow who lives out in Woodlands?

He brought a collection of them to World of wheels a couple of years ago
