Very cool Carl,  i didnt realize you had this.  looks like it is in fantastic condition,  some 4-0 steel wool and some soap and it will look like new..........and a seat.

biggrin  But look at the positive outcome.

Note to self:  Discuss more imports on Canadian Poncho to help Carl find some new neat projects to work on... wink

And the nice part is there's a very original looking repro seat available. Not cheap, $250 Cdn but at least I can get it.

From my experience of rebuilding a S90, you will want to make sure that repro seat is using the same seat pan as the original Honda pan.  I found out that repro seats from Taiwan or overseas use a thin stamped pan and the material used can be very thin quality.  I eventually ended up buying a New Honda quality covering and used the seat foam from a crappy repro seat that I bought and cleaned up my original Honda pan to get an authentic looking seat.

I have a S90 shop manual and parts book that includes various Honda models of the day if you need some parts. Also, CSMNL has great parts diagrams for just about every bike on earth.  https://www.cmsnl.com/

I'd just take it to your upholstery guy Carl. I bet he could sew a pretty good repop.

I can buy a repop cover, and I do like that is says "HONDA" on it. But if it's a thin piece of crap, I don't know what is the better decision.

For sure my local guy is plenty talented enough to make me a cover though.

By the look of it, the only things that little bike will need is the seat and probably any major rubber items. Fuel lines, etc.

It bet everything else would polish up pretty nice. Maybe paint the exhaust.

Pretty much exactly my plans. Yes, all the rubber components and wiring need attention. And make the exhaust look purdy.

Likely a carb kit and any rubber grommet on the engine as well as fuel lines / tires, cables if the cables are bad.  The original engine grommets will either get soft and will fall apart or hard as a rock.  But on cables, watch out for repops as they are not the same as Honda quality.  Careful not to get fooled on a nice looking repop cable only to get it home and see that it is lighter than genuine Honda.

Some great advice, thank you. I think I'll have to pay the $ for Honda stuff if I can get it. I'm trying to keep it original.

Although I am thinking about swapping out the 90cc engine and the 3 speed "floor" shift for a big block and a 4 speed...

I Paid $1900 for it when it was one year old and I`m guessing it would cost more than that to get it running and safe for the road again. it has 13,000 miles on the odometer

Tires, new brake lines and system flush. Tank flush. Replace fuel lines. Carb cleaning and rebuild. Oil change. Fork oil change. New battery. Contact cleaner on all the switches. Lube cables.

Like a car really, but two less tires!
