Another good video. Not much left pre 1970 by then. The background music takes me back to about the same period when I had to sit through episodes of Lawrence Welk at my Grandparents but anyway..
I first visited NYC in 1985. It all looks the same, except the Statue of Liberty was surrounded by scaffolding in 1985, being restored for it's 1986 centennial.
Went to NYC a couple years after this video at the age of 18. Super cool trip. I wasn't there for the usual touristy things. Made a pilgrimage with a couple friends to see CBGBs and some of my favourite music in The Bowery.
