That's a beautiful original car.

I had first seen it for sale in Lockeport, NS about 6 or 7 years ago (had made a post about it on Canadian Ford also) and the seller wanted in the neighbourhood of $10K for it.  At that time it was basically untouched mint original with perfect upholstery, factory chalk marks etc.  Looked like it had been kept in a heated garage all its life, especially in light of how badly Fords tended to rust from that era.

The price had dropped to around $7K which tempted me (though not my dream car, it's just so nice and minty original that it was tempting), and it sold shortly thereafter.

Then saw it for sale in the Saint John area last summer, price about 9 or 10 grand again, eventually dropping to $7K again at the end of the summer.

Now it's in the Miramachi for $9500.  From the pics it looks like it has deteriorated ever so slightly from when I first saw it, but still looks good.  I see it still has the original Fairley and Stevens dealership decal on the trunk lid.  (For anybody interested, this is where the dealership was located in the old days:  https://goo.gl/maps/1pKxnJzyXHuk8hbCA).

I find it strange how cars like this seem to take journeys from one owner to the next, and that nobody really seems to want to keep it, but are just hoping they can make a few bucks off of it.  Reminds me of that 72 Ventura that was posted here a couple of years ago: https://canadianponcho.activeboard.com/t64577454/1972-pontiac-ventura-sedan-48000-miles-pictou-ns/

Weird thing, this old car hobby...

For such an austere example of a Meteor to survive is a story in itself.

I loved how Ford put the radio on the left to keep the wife from changing the channels.

Those things were so rust-prone as daily drivers, 5 years was all you'd get. I don't know if it was their paint process or what, but it started Ford Canada's secret (then not so secret) rust warranty program.

That is an amazing survivor. The colour looks like something called New Lime. If not that, Seafrost Green. It deserves somebody that knows how to maintain and preserve an old car.

A Mercury with a Ford dash & usually Ford interior. Instead of starting with a 390 2-barrel, V8s went down to 302, plus '69 was the last year for an inline six in the full-size Meteor.

I remember when some neighbors traded in their '60 Impala sport sedan for a new '69 Rideau 500 wagon. Next door to them they had a '66 Meteor, and about 4 houses down there was a mint '67 Meteor Rideau 500 wagon that they kept until about 1979/80.

IIRC it is original paint, and when I saw it in person the colour was a pale yellow, and the painted top was a very dark green.  Interior is a deeper green than the photos show as well.  I'll have to look around and see if I can find the pics I took of it then.  I think they show the colours out better.

Ad does state original paint. Also states original tires. I can't imaging those would be original at 56000 miles. Maybe it's second set?
Like MC, I love survivors no matter what brand and body style. Even better if they are made in Canada!

I too like condition and survivor-ship in any make. I also love Mercury and Meteor in the 50s and 60's, but the styling after 66 does not appeal to me nearly as much as the earlier cars (with possible exception of the 69-70 Marauder X100). Nonetheless this is a great car for someone, and deserves to be preserved.

My best friend's father had a 69 Montcalm 2 dr ht new. It was a 302, automatic, with disc brakes, PS, PB and not much else. My friend inherited it and drove it for a few more years. It was in good condition during their ownership but what I remember about driving in it was how anemic the 302 was in a car of that size and weight, and how soft and float-y it was on the road. No matter, they liked it, and that's all that counted.

Here are the pics I took of it in August 2013, when it was in Lockeport, NS.  Now that I look at my pics again, I recall the roof was actually black, and the interior was more of an olive green colour, but the main body was definitely a pale yellow.

Riverdale Lincoln Mercury dealership in Toronto was directly across the street from my Father-in-Law's restaurant on the Danforth. All the salesmen would eat lunch and have after hours cocktails in our place so my FIL was loyal to a fault and was also notorious for buying cars sight unseen. He showed up one day with silver with black vinyl top 73 Rideau 500 400 2V, they took his 67 Mercury wagon in trade. That car was a real barge. My wife learned to drive on it and she could barely see over the steering wheel, she never ever learned to back it up and I guess she got lucky on her test because they passed her and when she died 4 years ago never knew how to back up any car. That 400 could barely move the thing and lean. boy taking turns at anything over 10 mph was full on tilt and stuff skittering around the package shelf and floors. When we were 18 or so we were coming home form a party and my FIL saw us walking, it was well after 1:00 am as he had closed up for the night and he picked us up, as he drove in the driveway the car bounced on the curb cut so much that I barfed on the entire back seat floor. Whenever I see one of these that's all I think of, Gutless Barf-mobile Barge.

True to form another salesman from Hogan, down the street, sold my FIL his next car over lunch, this time a Jackpot winner - 1978 Electra Park Avenue.

Here's a rare one I looked at that was for sale a few years ago. A Meteor S-33 convertible:

From the dealer brochure:

This could have been the only one left in existence.

I think the car in the post is probably M3120 "Yellow" . My dad had a 73 Montcalm, and it had a similar shade of pale yellow. Yellow wheels and dogdishes to boot!

Paint Cross Reference
