Interesting 1960 Buick Invicta Wagon

I saw this on a Stationwagon group on Facebook. I have never heard of this limited edition model.

The owners blurb:

Happy to share my 1960 Buick Invicta Custom Estate, which is a rare factory built production version of the Invicta wagon equipped with leather trimmed bucket seats and special western-themed interior. One of about 290 built, and only about 6 survive today. The cordovan color interior was the only combination available in this model, so only Arctic White, Sable Black, Cordovan (like the body on mine), Pearl Fawn (the roof and top of my tailgate), and Tahiti Beige exterior colors were produced. Power is a 401 4bbl nailhead mill with single exhaust, coupled to Twin Turbine Dynaflow. This car is 100% stock down to bias ply tires, points and condenser, and vacuum tube AM radio. Fortunate to be in the right place at the right time to purchase this car which was restored by master stitcher Bill Reid. Exact reproductions of 59-60 GM interiors was his specialty, and his work on this car duplicates factory exactly, even down to the walnut wood panels on the door panels.

Museum quality! I was just looking into browns offered back in those days. "Cordovan" was Cherrywood Bronze by another name at Buick in 1960/61. Then again midyear-62 with the Wildcat. Chevrolet had a slightly different chocolate brown in '63, Cordovan Brown. Not popular when new and usually ends up red after a repaint. Rare today as a result.

Such a nice wagon with all the toys. Single exhaust 401 with a Super Turbine 1-speed but 5-element converter. Hey, the idea is to get the torque to the wheels. The colours on that car are very masculine, as is the general theme. I almost expect the Marlboro Man to be driving it with a sheepskin coat. I think the Buicks had outrigger frame rails, unlike the Chevrolet & Canadian Pontiac Wasp-Frame. They also had better brakes traditionally.

While 1960 is not my favorite year for Buick, this car is stunningly beautiful in every way.

I'd be afraid to drive it, but it seems to make the rounds. Nice wagon, like the colours.
