Removing 65 B Grilles...without pulling your hair out.


Just  PSA for the 65 guys. Remember this...

 

 

There are 12 bolts holding in each grille.

4 along the top

4 along the bottom

2 at the headlamps

And 2 studs inboard at the nose with speednuts. I removed all the bolts and nuts, but the grill, although now loose, was still trapped with no way out.

Pondered it for a little bit... eureka! the Key! Remove those two inboard studs. They come out easy with a double nut. Grille pops right out now. Simple.

Yes, the 66 PLASTIC grills are probably easier to remove than the 65 METAL ones.

 Which explains why 65's are slower than 66's. Extra weight for nothing.
