A friend bought one new for his wife, same colours as this one. When his wife passed away it had about 20,000 miles on it. When Charlie passed, about 1980 if I recall, it was willed to a relative with about 26,000 on it. The car was never driven in the winter and the only damage that I remember was a dent in the stainless moulding on the trunk lid ( a new one was in the trunk, never installed), and the drivers door panel was water damaged and bent after catching from opening and closing the door. I wouldnt be surprised if this was the same car.

Nice car, but c'mon, NO interior pictures? When selling a car like this for that money, show the money shot.no

Given the fact it was restored on a rotisserie I'd say so. The only real comparison we have is the American Catalina convertible. Here's what Hagery says about their value (in US $)

Current Values

  • #1 Concours$81,200
Condition #1 vehicles are the best in the world. The visual image is of the best vehicle, in the right colors, driving onto the lawn at the finest concours. Perfectly clean, the vehicle has been groomed down to the tire treads. Painted and chromed surfaces are mirror-like. Dust and dirt are banned, and materials used are correct and superbly fitted. The one word description for #1 vehicles is "concours."
  • #2 Excellent$56,500
  • #3 Good$31,100
  • #4 Fair$19,700

There is the same model of car here in Tillsonburg Black exterior with Red and Black interior and a white top.  Gets a lot of attention at shows.   Bob.

If it were 100%, maybe, to the right buyer. BUT, the Parisiennes never get the kind of money US Pontiacs get, and comparisons, even to the Catalina, isn't really a good indicator.

Another 59 Parisienne convertible in condition just below this one was on Kijiji in N.Brunswick for months two years ago at 20k$ and it did not even sell in Canada (it's now in Germany).

This one here had what seems like a thorough restoration, so that's certainly a plus. But without any photo of anything important to see (interior, engine compartment, trunk, etc.), it's hard to tell for sure, but from what I do see, I hate to say it, but I don't think it's worth even close to that amount. The car is probably a 6 in line (no EIGHT logo in the grille), interior was redone but seats are missing the embossed lines and stars in the backrests and doors panels do miss the embossed and contrasting color lines, incorrect tailight lenses, cheap looking radial tires (weird that the ad say WWW when the car clearly does not have WWW tires), red painted side inserts (instead of black), black plastic wiper blades, etc, etc. Details, I know, but attention to details is what makes a proper restoration worth top dollar. Don't get me wrong, I like the car, and it looks nice, but seller is asking top dollar, and car certainly doesn't look like a top dollar car on the few photos here (and the ones I found on Facebook of the same car).

It might be sad, but we gotta remember that spending tens of thousands on an old car restoration doesn't mean the car now magically is worth tens of thousands on the market. Choices made during a restoration have to be made knowing this. I sank almost 6k$ into the correct and thorough restoration of my Parisienne's interior only, and I did so fully knowing that I would never ever get my money back. It's what a hobby is.
