Well, just bought a 1956 Poncho

i juts got myself another pile of metal trouble yesterday in the form of a 1956 Pathfinder Deluxe sedan. Car was too good to pass. Been in the same family since new, and I have known of the car for over 30 years.

Still undecided what I will end up doing with it, but I will enjoy just getting it back on the road for now.

It has 55k Original documented miles and was never restored. One repaint in 1984 and thats it. 265 V8 and Powerglide automatic.

Will post a couple of pics in a few minutes.

Feature car!!!

Make sure you don't post up all the pictures and details on it. If you do, it will spoil it for us when it's featured!

My car might answer the age old question about the original green colour of the Canadian PONTIAC 265 V8, since it's unrestored and seems to be sporting the original engine color.

I was going to ask you if you needed the valve covers back but that's a big no, and yes that original paint green is such an awesome find !

I can see from the pictures what you mean about too good to pass up.

Indeed! I will have it cleaned up and will document the engine color and other details carfeully since it is mostly a survivor. Too bad it was repainted in 84, but, oh well.. At least it seems to still shine up good.

I LIKE IT !!! Especially with that seldom seen factory 265 V-8 in that model. I have no doubt in my mind that that is the original motor. What are all the plans for that beauty.

Nice score, it is so rare to find a pathfinder with a 265 powerglide powertrain. Ray and I were having a discussion about the valve covers having the Pontiac logo painted black and your car being all original answers the question they were not. The car will be a great driver.

Long term, I don't know, as I need another old car in downtown Montreal as much as a kick in the butt, and my 59 Parisienne coupe sure is a keeper!

But that said, I'm not a flipper either and I enjoy getting these old things out of the shadow and onto the road. So that's first step. We'll see where it goes from there. But one thing for sure, it will not be restored, nor altered in anyway under my watch. Just make it dependable and safe is my motto.

The lucky streak (pun intended) continues!

New brakes all around, new fuel pump and fuel tank, and the car is now a super nice little runner. Drives great, perfectly and smoothly shifting transmission, very stable and surprisingly powerful little V8 (though noisy a bit.. probably will need new piston rings down the road).
