Wow, I was born and raised in Gothenburg and lived there for almost 30years, still works in the city but lives 30miles north. Even if I mostly driven american cars during the summer, Volvo was the perfect winter car, so i have had Volvo PV, Amazon (122), 240, V70 and so on. Sending a greeting to your friend
