Make the lawmakers who mandate this stuff pay the repair costs. That ain't going to happen.  Obviously penned & forced through by car-haters. The real endgame is to disable & take off the road any so-called "gross polluters".

Honestly, with any proposal you make a business case to look at the real projected costs. When this ethanol "requirement" was foisted on the public it resulted in vast quantities of money squandered due to repairs made necessary by the undesirable effects of ethanol on millions of old cars, outboards and small motorized tools. IMHO it is a travesty and full of contempt to force stuff like this through on a dissenting public.

If the London Fog didn't do in the human race, then ridiculous initiatives like this are unnecessary and here primarily to harass car owners so that idealists can meet a dreamt-up emissions target. Or it could be to stretch the fuel reserves, except that ethanol has less energy in it that gasoline and therefor will increase your vehicle's fuel consumption. Now do you see what I mean when I say that the automobile is everyone's favorite go-to whippin' boy? They will never get a fair trial today.

The fact that during the shutdown the air quality cleared up quickly means that pollution is not as dire as being reported.

It is an increase to 10% ethanol. Most gas here has been 10% for years. The bureaucrats arent saving anything in regard to emissions due to the large carbon footprint of ethanol production. Tractors and farm equipment are usually diesel powered with far less emission control than on road engines. It is just a scam for the greens to push an agenda.
