Gotta love PEI folk

Yesterday my wife was out running errands. She started to experience a condition where the Honda seemed to want to accelerate on it's own. She kept her wits and pulled over on the side of the highway and called me. I was over an hour away so she called a friend of ours who lives about 10 mins away and he drove out to see what was wrong. By the time he got there there were about 7 people helping her lol. A family who lived a few yards down the road walked over to see her and two motorists stopped as well. When my friend Dave arrived there was quite a crowd under the hood of the Honda. You gotta love how friendly folks are here.

Anyway, my friend got the car home while my wife drove his car. This morning I checked out the car. It turns out there was a long piece of electrical tape sticking out of the throttle body causing the plates to bind and stick partially open! Sometime in the last 24 years a part that attaches to the bottom of the air intake pipe disappeared and someone tried to seal the 2.5" hole with electrical tape! Over time it became unravelled and made it's way up the pipe and into the throttle body. I got it all out and cleaned the throttle body while I was there. I did a temporary fix on the hole. I know a guy with the same car who is parting it out so I'm going to see if he has this piece. The car idles and runs great now!

A great story, BUT you got to be still a bit wary of crowding at this time.

I find Islanders are starting to get pretty lax, especially since they now have the "Maritime Bubble" and the influx of "from away" PEI property owners among them.

Princess Auto in Ch'town was a free-for-all the past Thursday, I wasn't too comfortable.

You are right. People are getting lax. I guarantee you we'll see COVID cases here again. I could tell you lots of story's of things I've seen and heard in my travels.

Our experience with PEI when we traveled there was wonderful. Heck, some of you people on the island were so nice we'd even consider letting you move to the best place in the world, Manitoba...

Todd, that is a great story. I'm sure it reaffirms you made the right decision to move to your little chunk of paradise.
