Unfortunately, wind & solar dont reduce the need for more stable power sources. I still want to be warm and cook my meals when the wind is not blowing and the sun has gone down. Teslas massive battery stations are helping, as are hydro stations that use solar/wind power to pump water back up into the reservoirs.

Here are the Canadian & US statistics for electricity. Bear in mind that the US generates a bit more electricity than we do, so the overall percent from hydro would get diluted by quite a bit if we are looking at stats for all of North America.

Yeah that is closer to what i would have guessed. Realizing that the wind source is just a small part of the whole picture the area where the wind turbines are placed is sure ideal as they are moving almost all the time. That is the key for their efficiency. Every bit helps.
