I don't editorialize I just post what they say.

Yes, Ted, I realized that the wording is that of the seller, not yours. I would certainly not expect you to editorialize these ads. I was merely questioning the seller's choice of wording. It makes me wonder if the seller really knows much about the vehicle he is trying to sell. You do a fine job of posting, absolutely no offense intended to you.smile

I certainly wasn't offended. I posted it with the double set of initials more to see what response I would get. Yes, we sometimes wonder how much owners/sellers really know about their cars.

Reminds me of a story quite a few years ago. Saw an ad for a 65 Parisienne CS conv in Calgary. Emailed the seller telling him it was just a Parisienne not a CS. He emailed back that yes it was a CS. We exchanged about 6 emails each stating his case until I asked for the data plate info. It clearly showed it to be just a Parisienne. Finally sent him a copy of the identification page from the parts book. He emailed back that he was on his way to talk to his appraiser who had told him it was a CS and evaluated it as such in the write up.

so you could buy a GP convertible back then , not just a 2 door or 4 door hard top?

No, we never had a Grande Parisienne convert. I am guessing he has taken a Custom Sport and put the Grande Parisienne grilles in it. (A nice idea in my thinking...)

I think I remember this car based in a muffler business on 97th street in Edmonton.

I used to see it up on the hoist through the windows after hours as I went by on trips to the city.

It is a good concept for a car and one that should have been done that year.

I haven't seen it there lately so this guy might be a flipper.

And a Grande Parisienne tail panel, and what about the door panel & interior?

Now that I think about it, it's odd that GM had a Grande Parisienne Sport Sedan but no convertible...

This conversion looks fairly well done, no?

Wonder why no one bothers to paint the flat black into the tail section below the chrome strips, the taillights almost dissappear when done correctly. Just a matter of taste I guess. Does look like he even has the correct GP horn cap, alot of attention to detail there.

GP horn cap? They are the same as Parisiennes to my understanding. But that being said the conversion is so really so easy it make me wonder why they never offered a GP convertible. All the unique pieces were easily available on the assembly line. I'm sure they would have sold a few.

I discovered the GP horn cap is black plastic whereas the parisienne is dark green , the big plastic dash panels coincide as well.

Wow! I never knew that!   I'll have to take a look at my various parts cars.   Very subtle on their part.
