Found out today my isolation  period has been extended to Thursday due to the number of admissions here.

Will just have to watch more TV.

Yesterday I achieved a green card.

The red  card on my Walker indicated that i needed a staff member when i was doing an exercise to coach me and stabilize me.

So i now have the freedom to roam the hall (singular) distance of 200 feet.

I need to concentrate on the placement of my feet within the frame of the walker.

My tendency is to use the length of my  arms to place a risky distance between me and the Walker.  Need to keep my body upright with my feet close to the wheels

I have  received a discharge date of April 13.  They will arrange additional support closer to home.

There will be a meeting on Tues of all of the staff carrying for me with my wife invited in person and my grandson via video on his cell phone.

Wife has a 3 hour appointment scheduled for Saturday to visit.

Great news! and your typing/spelling is 10 fold above me!! I aim for the E and hit the V.   Can we mod that walker with a 12V motor, serpentine belt and super smooth casters to get you around faster? Thinking you may also need some wheelie wheels for the mod? biggrin  Just glad your still hanging around here keeping us up to date....

I tried to order  the serpentine belt but it is backordered.

Might have to go with chain drive.

Wife visited today and was at the Trim Tech shop in Oshawa on Friday to place an order for a new headliner and sail panels. Also considering ordering the 3 point seat belts for the front seat.  Will replace the rear seat belt webbing also. We have found that the mounting brackets were already there for the seat belts and detractors..

Wont be ordering the Monte Carlo style that clip into the roofline.

While the headliner is down the roof will be treated to 2 coats Lizard Tech sound deading material.

Our neighbour, unable to visit due to covid sent a box of 48 Lindt Chocolates.  They might last till suppertime!!!

Best to order now as there is a lengthy time line for the stuff to arrive.

How is that for shifting gears?

Walking exercise today had me gripping the Walker a little too tight and I mentioned that to my PT and she confidently pushed my Walker to the side and said "Walk" so i walked 20 feet with her stabilizing me and i did it.

PROGRESS!

Today was a family meeting for all those involved in my care here a Providence.

Went well with anticipated departure in 2 weeks.  Really have to focus on standing up straight.

When I do I gain 2 inches or more in height

Also in going forward I need to eliminate the shuffling habit I have adopted, by lifting my feet like a prancing horse and staying within the boundaries of my Walker.

After the meeting my wife and I made our way  to the Tim Hortons. About a 10 minute walk.

My wife did not bring my wallet so I had to float a loan for a medium black dark roast and a sprinkles donut. Treat of the day

Our grandson waited in the car and was on his cell phone for the meeting.

Last night before bed I asked to be weighed and found out I had lost 9 lbs even though the portion size was upgraded for each meal.

One of the people in the

meeting offered up that the plates were clean after every meal.

Cant wait to see what breakfast brings.

Never been bashful when it comes to food!!!

Given free reign to walk wherever I want to focusing on posture. Should be an interesting next 2 weeks as I am sure I will be pushed to improve.

I think regular trips to the Tim Horton's for a donut or two will solve your weight loss issue!

I'd pass on the cream of broccoli soup, but the rest don't look too bad if it tastes good. I have never had good hospital food, hope it was ok. Good to hear your improving.

Went for a solo walk today to Tim Hortons for a snack....  Met the doctor on the way and enquired how I was doing.... I explained that the insision in my stomach was a little aggravated and there was a lump on my head. She said we can get a cream for that but the lump on your head is now part of you... the shunt that was installed is on the top of your head.

Continuing with daily exercise routines to make me taller and stronger

Ok  got to go  LUNCH IS HERE...Sweet & sour meatballs.

Youre sounding great! Attitude makes a big difference. I suspect those regular trips to Timmies, while focusing on picking em up and avoiding the old man shuffle will pay big dividends. I had a bad knee for awhile and even years after surgery, I sometimes caught myself limping a bit for no reason except habit.

Well with the Easter holiday over, 4 days without any physio and only a few more days to my discharge date of April 13 things have picked up considerably with me having 3 sessions each day of physio and therapy.
Took a long walk on the weekend and my left knee started to act up to the point where I slathered it with voltaren. Doctor later came by to check up on me and asked if I had any concerns. I mentioned my left knee and he wiggled the knee cap enough to cause pain. I am scheduled for an xray in the next few days and said I could get an injection to ease the pain. Injection would last for months.

Glad to hear things are looking up, Cliff!

If the shot for you knee is a cortisone shot, they do work well.  I had one a couple years ago for my psoriatic arthritis, and yes it really did help it feel better for a couple of months - seemed to bring the swelling down as well (along with the doc draining some fluid off the knee before I got the shot).

All the best to you!
