1961 impala 348 convertible NS

Car is about 20 minutes from me, I knew the guy who restored it, he died a few years ago and I think the current owner inherited it. Suspension is stock, it just has those small wheels.

Beautiful 61 Chevy, except for those silly wheels. It probably is worth what the owner is asking but it will have to be sold state side or some where in other parts of the world. Canadians do not pay that kind of money.

Nice car (except the wheels - never really liked those on anything).  It looks uncannily like the box art on the Lindberg 1961 Impala model kit...

It may be George and you are correct about selling state side. Ten years ago we had a pristine 61 Impala 348, 3 deuces and a 4 speed

and it sold for a whole lot less than this locally. Checking the auctions in the US for a while after the sale showed about a 50% higher

price than I got..........cry.......here's a pic before the 348 conversion and after.

Nice '61!  A beauty in that colour combo, and off the map with that powertrain.

To be fair to Canadians, with the exchange rate it's quite a bit cheaper to Americans - from yesterday's rates, $65000 Cdn = $48,028.50 USD.

Not to mention that the tax situation is different, depending upon which state you're in (but we have healthcare...).

I'm sure some of us here have $65K to toss out on a toy, but I'm not one of them.

Bernie, i remember seeing that sweet 61 348 that you had owned, all over Ontario. What a beauty.

You're making me cry George...cry...should have kept that one. The 348 was resurrected from a ditch. We sleeved 5 cylinders.

A buddy gave me the 3 deuces and I had the T10 on the shelf at the time.....great project, gorgeous car.......biggrin.
