Been quite some time since last post, work still progressing on my full restoration, engine, frame and full steering/suspension completed, now onto body, etc.
I've been searching on and off for the rear stone guards for the past couple years and haven't had much success thus far. My car is a model 2211, 2 door sedan.
The originals are in rough shape, rubber coated steel plate. Rubber is cracking and brittle. I believe these are the same guards from a '53 Chevy 150 sedan or delivery, GM#'s 4605178/9.
Any suggestions on how to refurbish these? Or does anyone have or know where to potentially find a set? Recommendations for a classic auto wrecker?
Thanks again for your time,
Cheers,
Dustin

Emailed Chev of the 40s twice, no reply. Calls just get redirected in the office in a circle.
Still on the hunt, no luck thus far. Finding it hard to find. Still a ways away from the body work phase due to covid. Should the time come I may just go without if I'm unable to locate, fill in the holes.
Won't be a true resto, but it is what it is if I can't locate what I need.
If anyone knows of any wreckers in Canada that have 53/54 Chevy 150 series 2 door coupe/sedans, those are what I'm after.
I'll try my had at shaving the existing rubber and reseal/recoat
