Needs white doors, a bubblegum machine on the roof, 4 speed, and a bigger motor. Did they make a 440 in 68, I think so.

A best friend's older brother once owned a pea-green '68 Fury 1 2-door post with a slant six auto. It would have made a great place to place a big-inch engine. He flipped it too quickly to do anything with it.
You could get a 4-speed with up to a 330-horse 383, or a 375-horse 440 with an auto. They rated the 440 at 375, but the torque curve suggests a real peak of 410 horsepower. I love the sounds of a B or RB block with dual exhausts.

Darn it, I just sold the cop rims and caps I had from my Dart 360.
Would have been a good place to put them!
The Fury 65, 66, 67 and 68 2 door posts are so great looking, I love them.
Super stripper Canada only Savoy's were the best. Cop shops and cab companies loved them.
Toronto police had a bunch of both 2 door and 4 doors back in the day.
Fun post!
I thought the big Dodge and Plymouths were pretty homely but those with vertical headlights were a lot better looking. I liked those 2 door post Plymouths for 1965. And the best classic look to a cop car is the black and white with the big red light on the roof.

Back around '71 my grade 3 teacher, Mrs. Lawson, drove a 1966 Plymouth Fury II 2-door post that had extended shackles to jack up the car by the rear leaf springs. She drove that car almost every day, except the rare time she drove in her husband's Rally Green '69 Camaro RS.
I remember in high school a classmate named Herman bought a used 1974 Plymouth Fury 1 ex-OPP Interceptor. It had a 440, or as Elwood would say, "It' got cop brakes, cop engine, cop suspension..." It truly did. It looked like the attached picture except for having big blackwalls on h.d. steel wheels & dog dish caps, plus beefy stabilizer bars.
In Toronto most if not all the Fury 1 patrol cars in the '60s were slant sixes.
On the 401 the OPP had Dodge Polara's I think mainly 383 big block 4 doors.
There was at least one light chocolate brown unmarked 69 two door Polara coupe chase car with a 440 and I remember seeing in action one day on Bayview Avenue going real fast.
There were no full size Dodge 2 door sedans after 1964, but Plymouth held out for the longest time - as late as 1971 I think - when other manufacturers who had a full size 2 door post model dropped had dropped them in 1969 or earlier.
Many years ago there was a picture circulating on the net of an OPP garage in 1967 that was filled with many 1967 2 door post patrol cars, including Chevrolet, Ford and AMC. I attached the photo, but i don;t see a Plymouth in it.
Also included some other post car cop photos from the net. The 67 Plymouths and the 69 Ford are OPP cars.
The police dept. here had 1978 Chevy Novas with six cylinders. They were gutless wonders!
When I was in high school one of my friends father had a 1971 Plymouth Fury 1. It was a slant six auto with no options. It was a 2 door hardtop but the rear windows didnt roll down. There werent any window cranks or holes for them in the rear. I have never seen another with the rear windows like that.
Great shots of the Fuselage 2 door posts, they are very cool too.
Toronto cops had them till the end, '72 I think, after that everything was 4 door post.
Back when the cars were bright yellow.
1989 chev caprice X RCMP 305 engine removed 454 installed front end all redone brakes done all 4 shocks with air at the rear factory bucket seats with steal box console. There is a light bar that works but not mounted or wired in, 4 speed automatic no rust car had 246,000km engine 120,000km dual exhaust. call John at 403- 337-3040.
I had three of these 87-90 Caprice 9C1 cars when they came out of service. Best daily drivers I ever owned, but they all eventually rusted out and two of them broke the centre section in the 8.5 10 bolt rear end. Rear axle integrity was however my only complaint, aside from the inadequacy of the 305 in the second one I had.
