A little help in Toronto area, please?

I don't like asking people to help me out, but hopefully karma is on my side. 

Is there anyone in the GTA that would be willing to help me out with a potential Kijiji purchase?  I am in Calgary, and am wanting to buy some old car stereo equipment that is not easy to find out West  The seller is an hour northwest of downtown Toronto (driving time per Google Maps).  His ad says 'pick up only' and he hasn't responded to my two messages asking if he'd be willing to ship.  The stuff is about a hundred bucks.

I need someone to pick up the goods, pack it and ship it to me by Canada Post.  I'd be willing to pay you for your time and effort; no games, scams or questionable stuff from me.

Where are the items to Be picked up.    North West?

Just a postal code will do so members can judge what it will take to score the items for you.

How is payment to be made?

Hi Cliff, good questions. Guelph or just north of it is the general area, I don't have an exact address yet because I haven't received a reply from the seller. I think I'd have to send EFT to the CP member so they can buy it directly, then another to pay them for packing and shipping? I've never done this before (asking someone else to buy something on my behalf). Any advice would be really appreciated.

That postal code comes up as Orangeville, ON
I'm just under an hour away but others may be closer.

Send me the kijiji listing in a PM, sometimes the guys might send in Ontario, then if so It can be passed along to Alberta. 

The odd part is Ted is closer to Orangeville living in Wasaga Beach that I am in downtown Toronto so its very misleading to use Toronto as a way point on this one. iIts a 220 km 3 hour round trip from Toronto

Make it a nice evening run. I did one Monday down to Osoyoos at the border. Left at 4:30 and arrived at 7 while grabbing supper along the way. Spent almost an hour at the fellows place and Im home at 9:30. Beautiful top down driving. Be a similar distance by the sounds of it. I could use more excuses to make runs like this.

I did hear back from the seller this morning, he says pick up in person and cash only. It was nice he replied, at least I know.

I had originally included a postal code but then edited my post, since I still don't know precisely where the seller is located. THe Kijiji ad says a general geog. area, maybe because it's rural?

I offered him a crazy sum of money if he'd mail it to Toronto. He Said No. 

And I mean he could have had a date night out in a decent Toronto Restaurant. In Orangeville you could eat at the Costco lunch counter for two weeks with what I told him.

I gotta say that when somebody turns down twice what they are asking you gotta step back and say"Do I really want to deal with somebody who is so far off the grid they don't have a bank account?" That's a big red flag for me.

I have to say there are quite a few old timers like this. Ive dealt with a few. Very honest but they only deal the way they did 40 years ago. Very close acquaintance of mine for whom Ive sold some 409 stuff for on this site is just like this. He is 82 and has his very nice property for sale. Its worth 1.5 million and he will only accept it all in cash. Wont listen to any reason but would be dealing just like this guy. No problem dealing with my friend in person with green backs. More than honest all day long except maybe dealing with CRA. I wouldnt be scared of that guy at all. He probably has more money than many of us put together. Just the world they live in. Now you guys just have to go find him.

Well, I guess this was all good entertainment while it lasted. The ad got taken down tonight, so my search will continue.

(Sure, I could buy mint or NOS stuff at an insane price, but I'm just a regular guy.)
